'KanjiTomo' is very easy to use: after activating it, you merely have to point at any kanji or kana (Japanese symbols) on your computer screen; the program will then give you a list of English definitions that correspond to the symbols that are being pointed at. 'KanjiTomo' will obviously not make you read Japanese like a native, but it can be used to grasp the broad context of what is written.
