I have a Bluetooth Xbox controller. It was working via Bluetooth for about 3 weeks. The all of a sudden it lost pairing. Now I cannot get it paired again. When I tell windows to look for the Xbox controller it doesn’t find it.
I can use the controller via a USB cable. I tried the usual things such as deleting the Bluetooth adapter from device manager, changing drivers, moving the Bluetooth adapter to a different USB slot,
This is what I have tried so far after that.
Reinstalling Windows. A did a clean install of Windows 10 April update.
I asked a friend to try my adapter and controller on his Windows 10 PC and laptop. He also couldn’t get it to pair up.
I then thought it may be an issue with my Bluetooth adapter so I bought a new Bluetooth adapter (different model to my 1st one).

The Xbox controller will not pair to my original Bluetooth adapter or the new Bluetooth adapter. I only have one adapter in at a time.
Strangely though my friend has the non Bluetooth wireless adapter and my controller will connect up with that?.
Even weirder I can connect my mobile (cell) phone to my PC (thus proving the adapter works ok?) and I can get the Xbox controller to pair up to my mobile phones Bluetooth.
So in short
My mobile phone will pair to the PC via Bluetooth.
My Xbox controller will pair to my mobile phone via Bluetooth.
My Xbox controller will not pair up with my PC or my friends PC via Bluetooth.
My Xbox controller will connect to the old large wireless adapter on my friends PC.
Anybody any ideas why my Xbox controller will not pair up with the PC?

This surely has to be a Windows issue.
Reasons for saying that
1) I have reinstalled Windows 10.
2) I have tried 2 different Bluetooth adapters.
3) My friend cannot get my Xbox controller to connect to his Windows 10 PC or Windows 10 laptop.
4) I can get my mobile/cell phone to connect to my PC via Bluetooth.

To rule out the Xbox controller being at fault I had it replaced by the store I bought it from. I still have the same issue. I cannot get the controller to pair up with my PC via Bluetooth.
